By accessing this website or engaging our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please refrain from using our website or booking our services. These Terms are legally binding and apply to all clients, whether individual or commercial, across all projects undertaken by our company.

2.  Company Information

3.  Services Provided

We offer a wide range of residential and commercial roofing services, including but not limited to:

  • Roof installation and full roof replacement
  • General and emergency roof repairs
  • Comprehensive roof inspections and maintenance
  • Installation of flat and pitched roofs
  • Chimney repairs and repointing
  • Fascia, soffit, and guttering installation and repairs
  • Leak detection and storm damage repair

All work is carried out in accordance with current building regulations, health and safety requirements, and industry best practices. Services are subject to site surveys, client specifications, weather conditions, and availability of labour and materials.

4.  Estimates and Quotations

  • All estimates and quotations are offered free of charge following an initial inspection. Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date issued.
  • Quotations are based on the visible condition of the property at the time of inspection. Should additional work become necessary due to concealed damage or unexpected conditions, we will issue a revised quotation for approval before proceeding.
  • Pricing excludes VAT unless clearly stated otherwise. We strive to maintain transparency and accuracy in all quotations issued.

5.  Booking and Commencement

  • Once a quotation is accepted in writing or via email, a booking date will be scheduled, subject to mutual agreement.
  • Deposits or staged payments may be required, depending on the size and scope of the project.
  • Scheduled start dates may be subject to adjustment due to adverse weather, supplier delays, or unforeseen site issues. In such cases, we will notify you promptly and aim to reschedule at the earliest convenience.

6.  Access and Site Conditions

  • Clients are responsible for providing clear and safe access to the work area. This includes access to driveways, side entrances, and loft spaces where applicable.
  • All vehicles, furniture, or personal items should be moved away from the area of work prior to commencement.
  • We reserve the right to delay or cancel work if site conditions pose a health and safety risk to our team or equipment.

7.  Materials and Workmanship

  • We use high-quality, certified roofing materials that comply with UK regulations. All materials are new unless otherwise specified and agreed upon.
  • In cases where materials are unavailable or discontinued, suitable alternatives of equal or greater quality will be offered.
  • Our workforce comprises skilled and experienced tradespeople who are committed to delivering durable and aesthetically pleasing results.
  • We cannot be held responsible for faults arising from materials supplied by the client or third-party contractors.

8.  Guarantees and Warranties

  • New roof installations and major repairs typically include a workmanship guarantee of 1 year and a waterproofing guarantee of 20 years. However, specific durations may vary depending on the product and service.
  • The guarantee covers defects resulting from poor workmanship or faulty materials supplied by us. It does not include:
    • Acts of God or natural disasters (storms, hail, etc.)
    • Structural movement or subsidence
    • Damage caused by third parties, animals, or client interference
    • Inadequate maintenance or lack of routine inspection
  • Any unauthorised modifications or repairs by others may void the warranty.

9.  Payment Terms

  • Payment terms are outlined in your invoice and must be honoured. Full payment is generally due upon completion of the work unless otherwise specified.
  • For larger projects, payment may be broken into stages: deposit, interim payment, and final payment. The final payment confirms client satisfaction with the completed work.
  • Invoices not settled within 14 days from the due date may incur interest and administrative charges under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
  • Persistent non-payment will lead to the involvement of third-party debt recovery services or legal proceedings.

10.   Cancellations and Delays

  • Bookings may be cancelled within 7 days of acceptance, providing work has not started, and materials have not been ordered. Cancellations made outside this window may incur charges.
  • If materials have been procured or preparation works commenced, the client is liable for associated costs.
  • Delays caused by weather, supplier shortages, or access restrictions may affect timelines. While we strive to keep delays to a minimum, Surrey Roofing Specialists is not liable for any direct or indirect losses resulting from scheduling changes.

11.  Liability

  • We maintain comprehensive Public Liability Insurance for your protection and our peace of mind.
  • Surrey Roofing Specialists shall not be responsible for:
    • Pre-existing damage to property structures
    • Damages resulting from scaffolding or access equipment
    • Hidden defects uncovered during the course of the works
  • Where applicable, it is the client’s responsibility to inform adjacent property owners of the works taking place and obtain necessary permissions if scaffolding or access is required on neighbouring land.

12.  Disputes and Complaints

  • If you experience an issue with our service, we ask that you contact us as soon as possible, ideally within 7 days of identifying the issue.
  • We are committed to resolving all customer complaints amicably and promptly.
  • If a resolution cannot be reached internally, we may recommend an independent adjudicator or third-party mediation service before considering legal options.

13.  Waste Removal and Site Cleanliness

  • Our team maintains a clean and organised worksite, removing debris and surplus materials daily where feasible.
  • Unless specified otherwise, waste produced during work will be collected and disposed of in accordance with UK environmental regulations.
  • Clients wishing to retain old materials (tiles, slate, metals, etc.) should notify us in advance. Unclaimed materials will be deemed as waste.
